Five ideas on the French-Indian partnership as President Hollande visits India.

Samir Saran, vice-president of the Observer Research Foundation, considers five main domains of cooperation between France and India: defence, India’s entry into global export control regimes, civil nuclear, homeland security and regional presence. Mr. Saran argues France is India’s second “longest-standing all-weather friend”, and that France and India can both benefits from high-quality cooperations in these sectors.
